2010 YARRA VALLEY SYRAH

The 2010 Yarra Valley Syrah is sourced from an elevated vineyard in St. Andrews where the rocky, depleted soil and steep, windswept slopes produce a more feminine, elegant style of Syrah.
A sturdier, more muscular wine than the 2010 with plenty of black fruit perfume, cardamom, pepper and floral (violet) notes. Retains the prettiness and elegance of previous releases but carries slightly more structure and palate weight. Fermented using wild yeast with 60% whole bunches included. Matured in 27 year old, large format oak barrels before bottling without fining or filtration.
